Pistol Mike's - Favorite Carry Pistols

We sell and carry a large variety of pistols. This page is dedicated to the concealed carry guns I highly recommend. It covers a broad spectrum of size and caliber guns suited for personal protection. If it isn't listed I either don't have personal knowledge or I don't recommend it. If you desire information on guns not listed please fill out the request below and I will respond when time allows. I will respond.

Glock - there are several Glocks suitable for concealed carry. The size I recommend is the sub-compact Models 26 & 27.. These 9mm and the 40cal handguns are on the exact same frame. The 26 holds ten rounds and the 27 holds 9 rounds in the magazine. The 45 is slightly larger and thicker. The Model 30 holds 10 rounds. The grip is thinner on the Model 36 and makes it very nice for concealed carry for a 45ACP. The thinner grip holds 6 rounds in the mag.  All three can be seen by clicking Clock.

Kel Tec - there are three Kel Tec compact pistols which I recommend. Two of them are on the same frame. The P11 9mm and the P40 40 cal are both excellent choices for those who want a compact handgun with power   good reliability and price less very reasonably for a reliable handgun. It will not last thousands and thousands of rounds like a Glock but for the personal protection handgun it will service you well. Kel Tec is also making a super compact 32 cal. It weighs only 6.7 ounces and shoots pretty good for a true pocket gun. I would rather have this gun in my pocket than my Colt 45 at home in my sock drawer. Kel Tec makes a good gun for the money and I would carry one with confidence after breaking it in 50 rounds or so. You can click to see pictures and specs.

Taurus - there are three Taurus pistols that I recommend for concealed carry. Two are on the same frame. They are the PT111 and the PT140 Millenniums. Smallest frame in this size handgun I am recommending at this time. I don't envision any coming anytime in the foreseeable future any smaller. This the only one in this size with a safety. The quality is good and Taurus has a lifetime warrantee if you are going to shoot this little baby until it quits. They come in black and stainless tops with one magazine. The other gun I want to be sure you know about is the PT145 soon to be available. It will be slightly larger than the above two Millenniums. You can click here for more info and picture.

Springfield -  there are dozens of 45cal type 1911 handguns. There are some companies making them in 9mm and 38super also. I am not a fan of these guns in general. I do recommend two as ideal for the single action 45 customer. They are the Springfield V-10 and the new Micro Comp. Both are Springfields which are the only 45's today I would carry. The  V-10 is a custom shop gun made of excellent steel and ported to reduce recoil and jump. It is very pleasant to shoot and returns to point of aim quickly for a 45cal. The Micro Comp is smaller yet than the V-10 and much lighter. It has a thin grip profile and has the only wood grip profile I have ever liked. I have shot both of them on many occasions and find they are remarkably accurate. If you are into single action 45's these guns are an absolute must see and shoot. There are other Brands that are more money but they are not more gun for the money. I would not say anything bad about a Kmber or some of the higher priced compact 45's. What I do say is Springfield is the best of the lot. Click here to see the specs.

H&K - Heckler & Koch make several series of handguns for Law Enforcement and Military applications that are also available to the public. I am very high on their USP Compact Series. The 9mm and 40cal are on a compact frame that has a full grip and id still reasonably concealable. They are very well made with state of the art Polymer technology frames and stainless steel slides. They also make a 45cal compact that is a little bigger than it's 9mm/40cal counterpart. This is the Rolls Royce in combat handguns and is priced higher than most guns in this class. However if you are looking for a decock safety that is very combat friendly and a guns that will perform under extreme conditions, look no further. Now all you have to do id find one. Beretta - there are many great Beretta handguns. There are only two that I would put on my list of carry guns. The new Beretta 9000F and the Tom Cat. The 9000f is their newest handgun and is about like the glock27 in height and length. However it is much heavier and thicker than some of the guns above. It has a decock/safety and is very well machined. A classy new addition for Beretta. I predict it will not be a big mover in spite of the quality because of the weight. It will be available in 9mm, 40cal, and 45cal. The 45cal will likely be the best seller of the three. In that size and weight it will be a new choice with competitive features plus the safety. Click here for more info.

North American Arms - they make a high quality 32cal that is very small and makes a good pocket gun, belly gun or purse gun. North American sells lots of accessories for their guns. They have holsters, grips and other neat things as well. This is also true for their mini revolvers. Click here to see this handgun.
